The CCI Black Book teaches the basics as well as the nuances of crop steering. We wrote this book for cultivators from all levels of expertise, home growers, and commercial growers alike. Our lessons cover each phase of the plant’s life: mothers, clones, veg, flower, drying, trimming, and curing. Along with pest research, technology instruction, and room maintenance.

This is the most comprehensive and modern approach to plant cultivation. We have built a scientific approach to increase yield and maximize efficiencies. Embracing new technology, digital tracking tools, and automated systems to create a process that eliminates guess work and uses proven tracking numbers and environmental setpoints to keep your rooms growing at their maximum potential.

The book begins by explaining the scientific ideology behind what drove our approach. You are then taken through our step-by-step process, taking grow cycles from start to finish.

When you purchase the CCI Black Book, you will receive 4 free digital tools to further enhance your grow operations:

  • Irrigation Calculator
  • LED Environment Guidelines
  • HPS Environment Guidelines
  • Dome Protocol Tracker

Note: The CCI Black Book is only available in softcover format. The content of both book versions is identical; only the cover is different.

Could use a little more detail...

The crop steering guidelines (4A)are vague with regard to WC% min/max and p3 dryback. There are several types of 1 gallon coco bags we've used (45%, 53% and 60% VWC) and unsure how the book setpoints are applied to each of those. Tried googling but no dice. I'd like to clarify if there was anyone to contact.
There are a few other areas of confusion but otherwise a good book.

Hi Dan,

Thank you for your thoughtful review and feedback. You are correct. Different brands and sizes of coco have different max field capacities, which in turn changes the min WC% that one should aim for.

We specify that our tables were made using Dutch Plantin one gallon coco pots. We also shared that the rule of thumb we use if we are using other coco products is that a “generative” dryback is 50% of max field capacity and a “vegetative” dryback is 25% of max field capacity. There is no one size fits all with crop steering so we have laid out these guidelines to provide the best foundation and framework to begin working inside of. We also provided a grow journal in our free e-book, “Crop Steering Super System” so that we could give a detailed example of how we steered a flower room…which goes deeper than just using the table.

We hope this helps and provides more clarity. At the end of the day, the best way to dial in a genetic is to pick your favorite media, and grow the same genetic in it round after round, making small adjustments until you find the sweet spot for that genetic paired with that media.

Received multiple emails showing $ 104.98 , I tried to purchase but the price was not as shown

Different price upon checkout

Hi Harry,

Thank you so much for your feedback. We completely understand how frustrating it can be when a promotion changes before you have a chance to complete your purchase.

The $104.98 offer you received was part of a limited-time promotion, which, as mentioned in the email, ended on Friday the 25th at 11:59 PM PST. After that time, the pricing automatically reverted back to the original price of $247.00. Since this was a one-time special offer, we’re unable to extend it further.

However, we do currently have a limited number of copies with the Old Cover available at a discounted price of $209.95. If you’re interested, this could be a great opportunity to still secure the book at a lower rate.

Stay connected with us by following us on Instagram — you’ll find growing tips, tricks, and be the first to hear about any future promotions.

Thank you again for being part of our community!

Warmly,
The CCI Black Book Team

Full of useful knowledge but the binding is no bueno

Great book, full of new knowledge even for a 25+ year grower. Only issue is that it's bound like a traditional book and I had to take it to a print & copy shop to have them replace with a spiral binding so it can lay flat.

Essential Reading

This is the most detailed cannabis cultivation book I've ever read. It covers everything from seed to cure in step-by-step detail, with setpoints for HPS and LED lighting and setpoints for Rockwool or Coco Coir. My only suggestion is that the next addition covers cannabis nutrition in the same detail. Weekly feeding charts showing the PPM of each macronutrient and secondary nutrient would be helpful for those not using the Advanced Nutrients line of fertilizers.
